Cornell Student Chapter

Vanessa Lobo-Gradiz is a senior in the Industrial and Labor Relations School pursing a minor in Law and Society. She became interested in Mayor Potential after visiting her grandma's village in Cedros, Honduras, and interning at a non-profit in their Social Economic Empowerment sector in Karnataka, India. She worked on the standard operating procedures at the vocational training center for tribal women and collaborated with teachers on the curriculums at the nearby tribal school.

Vanessa Lobo-Gradi

On campus, she serves as an ambassador for ILR, a Kessler Scholars Program Mentor, and as Co-president for an organization that visits local middle schools and high schools to inform students about college. She is also a virtual advising fellow for the non-profit Matriculate where she mentors students on the college application process. Vanessa is passionate about studying the legal system and searching for new means to give more access to work and education.

Kimberly St Fleur

Kimberly (Kim) St Fleur is a junior in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell. She is studying Global and Public Health Sciences, and her interests range from community development and empowerment, reproductive health and rights, and infectious diseases. When she is not busy, she enjoys reading, watching movies, or anything as long as she is with her friends.

Jael Ferguson

Jael Ferguson is a senior majoring in Urban and Regional Studies at Cornell University, pursuing minors in Inequality Studies, Demography and International Development Studies. She joined Mayor Potencial in 2018 after being on the Agua Clara Sustainable Water Project team that designed sustainable water treatment plants for communities in Honduras. She is passionate about cities, equality, and making communities more efficient and sustainable. Furthermore, Jael hopes to travel to Honduras to further the mission and vision of Mayor Potencial. She also hopes to remain involved in the organization as she pursues a career in international sustainable development.

Chris Elliot

Chris Elliot is a rising senior studying Information Science at Cornell University. He joined Mayor Potencial in 2018 after being Co-President of Cornell University’s Amnesty International chapter. Although Chris’s main academic focus is data science and predictive modeling, he also has a passion for fighting global inequality by providing humanitarian aid for communities in need. He plans to continue his involvement with Mayor Potencial as he concurrently pursues a career in data science.

Vidushi Tripathi

Vidushi Tripathi is a junior majoring in Healthcare Policy at Cornell University and minoring in Business. She traveled to Honduras with Mayor Potencial in 2018 and has been passionate about working with the organization ever since. She hopes to improve healthcare access for underserved communities and help spread awareness about global health issues

Courtney Noll

Courtney Noll is a senior at Cornell University studying Industrial and Labor Relations and is passionate about labor and gender issues as they relate to international development. On campus, Courtney is a Rawlings Presidential Research Scholar conducting research on mandatory arbitration clauses and workplace sexual harassment. Previously, she worked as a project consultant for the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement analyzing how its various initiatives built social and human capital, as well as leadership skills, among women living in the seven slums of Mysore, India. She has also worked for Endeavor Global, a non-profit that helps entrepreneurs around the world scale their businesses. Courtney hopes to eventually pursue a career in international development consulting.
